I wish it were 1975. Then we’d have had enough time to turn things around. I don’t see a bright future for environmental issues and climate change. For environmental concerns, it’s a matter of degrees and it’s dire no matter what—climate is a forgone conclusion. However, with the outcome of the U.S. election, we do have a bit of hope. We need something like the combined effort of the Manhattan Project, the Marshall Plan and the Lunar Landing to get rid of carbon fuel and plastic. Given the U.S.’s pathetic and childish response to Covid-19, I’d be pleasantly surprised if there is the collective will to commit to this. The vaccine is a bright spot, however.
