Helina Metaferia (New York City) is an interdisciplinary artist working across collage, assemblage, video, performance and social engagement. Her work integrates archives, somatic studies, and dialogical practices to elevate overlooked narratives from marginalized groups. Metafaria’s Headress 6 was one of 20 billboards featured in Art at a Time Like This first public art project, Ministry of Truth, installed across five boroughs of New York City on the eve of the 2020 election.

Metaferia participated in the 2023 Sharjah Biennial and has recently opened a solo exhibition at RISD; her upcoming exhibitions include Multiplicities: Black Collage in Contemporary Art, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, TX and Imagining Black Diasporas: 21st Century Art and Poetics, Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, LA .
